ICS intrusions are assumed to focus on disruption of operations for targets of strategic significance. However, several motivations lie behind ICS events, expanding the list of targets beyond strategic infrastructure. This talk will describe a framework for categorizing ICS intrusions and provide guidance on what asset owners and policy makers must consider when determining the threat landscape.

Emily Crose is a threat hunter and security researcher currently working at Dragos Inc. finding baddies inside ICS networks. She has 10 years experience in the field of cyber security and has previously worked as a security analyst for NSA, CIA, and US Cyber Command.

Joe Slowik current hunts ICS-targeting adversaries at Dragos. Prior to this, Joe ran the incident response team at Los Alamos National Laboratory and served as an Information Warfare Officer in the US Navy.
